Here’s how to get the most out of your AirPods Pro (2nd generation) and use each of the new features.

Thanks to a new H2 chip, the new AirPods have Adaptive Transparency Mode, which allows them to block out harsh noises like sirens or motorcycles. It’s not a feature like noise cancellation mode, which will block out a lot of noise around you, and instead blocks out loud noises even when noise cancellation is turned off. Here’s how to turn it on.

• Make sure your AirPods are connected to your iPhone.
• open settings.
• Tap your AirPods listing at the top of the Settings page.
• Scroll down to Adaptive Transparency and toggle it on or off.

The touch controls on the new Pros allow you to lower or raise the volume by swiping up or down lightly on the stem of the AirPods. Here’s how to use the feature.

• You’ll feel an area on either side of the AirPod that is slightly indented and has a matte texture rather than a glossy one.
• Lightly stroke up or down to control the volume.
• Each time you stroke the stem, the volume will increase or decrease by only one level. You will hear a ticking sound with each stroke. You will also be able to see the volume up on your iPhone.

There are four ways to charge your new AirPods Pro (2nd generation).

1. You can use the Lightning charger that comes with the new AirPods.
2. You can also drop them on any Qi wireless charging pad.
3. MagSafe is built into the new AirPods, which means the case will automatically stick to any MagSafe charger you may already have for an iPhone.
4. And for the first time ever, you can use an Apple Watch charger to charge your new Pros. It just sticks to it magnetically and starts charging.

The new AirPods case has Apple’s U1 chip, so you can use the Find My app to find out where you last left your AirPods.

Since there’s a new speaker built into the case, you can also ask Find My to play a noise from your AirPods case so you can better locate it. Here’s how to do it.

• Open Find My App.
• Search for your AirPods by their name. For example, my name is Sofia’s AirPods Pro #3.
• Press Play sound to listen to your AirPods.
• To see where your AirPods are on the map, select Find.
• The Find My app will also help you locate each individual bud if your bud isn’t in your case.
