Tesla The country’s president will build a new plant in Monterrey, Mexico, announcing at a press conference on Tuesday, following a series of commitments to address water shortages.

President Andres Manuel López Obrador, or AMLO as he is known, said Tesla agreed to use recycled water at the plant throughout the vehicle manufacturing process, even down to the paint of the cars . He said the company would reveal more details about the new plant during its investor day event on Wednesday.

AMLO said he spoke with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Friday and Monday.

AMLO said the plant would be a considerable investment, and would result in “many, many jobs”.

Monterrey is an industrial city near the US-Mexico border, and has long been considered a frontrunner for investment from Tesla. The company currently has two other car plants outside the US located in China and Germany.
