Microsoft, Accenture and American Tower REITs picked up dividends.

And the American Tower REIT announced a dividend increase this week among the bigger U.S. companies to make such announcements.

Microsoft (ticker: MSFT) is planning to pay a quarterly dividend 68 cents per share, up about 10%, or 6 cents, from 62 cents. This equates to an annual dividend of $2.72 per share.

The software giant’s stock, which yields 1.1%, had closed minus 28% this year including dividends on Sept. 25. This S&P 500. Compares with minus 20% for,

Consulting firm Accenture (ACN) announced quarterly distributions of $1.12 per share, up 15.5%, up 97 cents. That would increase the annual dividend to $4.48 per share.

The stock, which has given minus 36% return this year, has a yield of 1.7%.

American Tower (AMT) will promote quarterly dividend to $1.47 per share. That’s an increase of about 3%, or 4 cents per share. The annual dividend would be $5.88 per share.

The stock of the real-estate investment trust, which has returned 2.5%, has returned nearly minus 20% this year. The company’s assets include cellular towers.
