Costa Coffee, a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company, has announced the appointment of Philip Shelley as its new CEO, effective April 10, 2023. Innovation from April 2021.
Prior to joining the French small appliance maker, he was general manager of the Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) group in Belgium, Luxembourg and France. As President of the company, Philippe has also contributed to the development of the Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE) Group for 5 years. Prior to this, he was a member of Sara Lee’s team, holding various positions in the company.

His academic degrees include undergraduate and postgraduate. He completed his undergraduate studies in economics at the Catholic University of Leuven, while at the Valerik Leuven Ghent Management School, he obtained a master’s degree in business administration.
Philip Shelley will be based at Costa Coffee’s headquarters in London and will report to Evgenia (Jenny) Stoichkova, President of Coca-Cola’s Global Ventures Division.

Costa Coffee currently operates 2,700 stores across the UK and over 1,100 stores in over 40 countries.

Philip Shelley replaces Jill McDonald, who stepped down as CEO of Costa Coffee at the end of July 2022, and joins American fast-food chain McDonald’s as executive vice president and president of international operated markets. Costa Coffee appointed Shakir Moin as interim CEO in July 2022. Atlanta-based Coca-Cola, which acquired Costa Coffee in 2018 for $5.4bn, reported 11% revenue growth in full-year 2022 to reach $43bn.
